Update...
Ok so this is going to be one LONG update! Hopefully I can remember everything! Well right after we had to put spike down that same week my Nana passed away.. great week eh?? well needless to say it was quite the experience and my poor momma was devastated.. which of course is understandable. So that day.. my mom got the call early like 3ish Thursday morning.. she got on a flight and left to San Diego. Me and Dad drove that Friday getting there like 8:30 ish that night. Christina, Josh, and Ricky left later Friday and stayed over in Mesquite and drove the rest of the way Saturday before her funeral. Matt, Candace, Hannah, and Kev stayed at home unable to make it due to other circumstances. Her funeral was good, it was a Buddhist one which I had never been to before. It was super hard seeing her just lying there and I was just waiting for her to move. It seems so unreal that she is gone.. it still does. The members of her church chanted and then they read a thing from someone about my Nana. Then we all got up one at a time and dropped incense in a bowl and was told while doing that think happy thoughts or what not. That was interesting. then my mom and Aunt Caroline got up and said a few things. They opened it up to anyone who wanted to say anything about my Nana, Christina was brave and got up there, it was good. I wont mention her irreverence at one point..ha ha ;] Afterwards they had a viewing type thing with sushi. I personally dont like sushi so I was made fun of.. im used to it! ha ha Christina, Josh and Ricky had to leave that next morning which stunk but that day we went and cleaned out Nana's stuff out of her room. that was hard and really surreal. It was weird to think that she wasnt coming back... We all got something of hers, she had so much stuff! We all used to tease about how she kept everything! for example she kept collecting napkins for my mom to take home so we would have napkins, so there was grocery bags full of napkins.. so funny! We left on that Tuesday and that was hard. The good thing about that trip is we got to spend time with my Uncle Bob and Aunt Gaby which doesnt happen very often since they live on the East Coast. So through all of this we were trying to get Kev ready for his mission. He reported to the MTC on April 20th. My grandma and Auntie Debbie came the weekend before to hear him talk at church and it was good spending time with them before he left. He did an awesome job with his talk, I joked with him that even though he didnt talk for too long everyone was satisfied because thats the most they ever heard him talk before! ha ha he can be quiet sometimes but thats ok! Then the Tuesday before he left the Stake President came over to set him apart as a Missionary. That was a fantastic experience and I am grateful for our Stake President and how in tune with the spirit he really is! That night was hard knowing that we want be seeing him for 2 whole years. But he is doing the right thing by serving our Lord in Japan and by doing his duty. Then Wednesday came and I debated all morning whether I was going to go with them to the MTC to drop him off or not. I decided against it because it doesnt sound like a pleasant experience. You go in park at the curb you get out get his stuff and there is a missionary waiting for him and you hug him and he walks away and you drive away. they are ripping the bandaid off I guess. Luckily that same morning I was suppose to recieve my mission call. We were all worried that it wouldnt get there before they left but it did!! We got Ricky on the phone and I opened it.. scariest moment ever! ha ha I am called to serve in the Korea Daejeon Mission!!! We were all shocked! Korea had never entered my mind at all!!! Christina and I looked up stuff on her phone that day and tried seeing what we could find! It seems like it is a fun mission and doesnt look to scary! ha ha I am just worried about the food and learning the language! So lately I have been on this rollercoaster of emotions- happy then sad then happy then scared.. it will get easier, I know! I have just finished up my big projects in school and have just two more things to do and I will be done.. yay for getting my Associates finally!!! I leave for the MTC July 27th.. so soon yet so far away! ha ha Oh and then I went to a single adult meeting at the conference center.. its a historical event so I had to mention it.. I was part of something historical! woot ha ha The Brethren are truly inspired and Heavenly Father knows what he is doing so I am excited to see the changes! Yay for the Gospel! Hopefully I have remembered everything.. probably not but thats my update!
