Update...

Ok so this is going to be one LONG update! Hopefully I can remember everything! Well right after we had to put spike down that same week my Nana passed away.. great week eh?? well needless to say it was quite the experience and my poor momma was devastated.. which of course is understandable. So that day.. my mom got the call early like 3ish Thursday morning.. she got on a flight and left to San Diego. Me and Dad drove that Friday getting there like 8:30 ish that night. Christina, Josh, and Ricky left later Friday and stayed over in Mesquite and drove the rest of the way Saturday before her funeral. Matt, Candace, Hannah, and Kev stayed at home unable to make it due to other circumstances. Her funeral was good, it was a Buddhist one which I had never been to before. It was super hard seeing her just lying there and I was just waiting for her to move. It seems so unreal that she is gone.. it still does. The members of her church chanted and then they read a thing from someone about my Nana. Then we all got up one at a time and dropped incense in a bowl and was told while doing that think happy thoughts or what not. That was interesting. then my mom and Aunt Caroline got up and said a few things. They opened it up to anyone who wanted to say anything about my Nana, Christina was brave and got up there, it was good. I wont mention her irreverence at one point..ha ha ;] Afterwards they had a viewing type thing with sushi. I personally dont like sushi so I was made fun of.. im used to it! ha ha Christina, Josh and Ricky had to leave that next morning which stunk but that day we went and cleaned out Nana's stuff out of her room. that was hard and really surreal. It was weird to think that she wasnt coming back... We all got something of hers, she had so much stuff! We all used to tease about how she kept everything! for example she kept collecting napkins for my mom to take home so we would have napkins, so there was grocery bags full of napkins.. so funny! We left on that Tuesday and that was hard. The good thing about that trip is we got to spend time with my Uncle Bob and Aunt Gaby which doesnt happen very often since they live on the East Coast. So through all of this we were trying to get Kev ready for his mission. He reported to the MTC on April 20th. My grandma and Auntie Debbie came the weekend before to hear him talk at church and it was good spending time with them before he left. He did an awesome job with his talk, I joked with him that even though he didnt talk for too long everyone was satisfied because thats the most they ever heard him talk before! ha ha he can be quiet sometimes but thats ok! Then the Tuesday before he left the Stake President came over to set him apart as a Missionary. That was a fantastic experience and I am grateful for our Stake President and how in tune with the spirit he really is! That night was hard knowing that we want be seeing him for 2 whole years. But he is doing the right thing by serving our Lord in Japan and by doing his duty. Then Wednesday came and I debated all morning whether I was going to go with them to the MTC to drop him off or not. I decided against it because it doesnt sound like a pleasant experience. You go in park at the curb you get out get his stuff and there is a missionary waiting for him and you hug him and he walks away and you drive away. they are ripping the bandaid off I guess. Luckily that same morning I was suppose to recieve my mission call. We were all worried that it wouldnt get there before they left but it did!! We got Ricky on the phone and I opened it.. scariest moment ever! ha ha I am called to serve in the Korea Daejeon Mission!!! We were all shocked! Korea had never entered my mind at all!!! Christina and I looked up stuff on her phone that day and tried seeing what we could find! It seems like it is a fun mission and doesnt look to scary! ha ha I am just worried about the food and learning the language! So lately I have been on this rollercoaster of emotions- happy then sad then happy then scared.. it will get easier, I know! I have just finished up my big projects in school and have just two more things to do and I will be done.. yay for getting my Associates finally!!! I leave for the MTC July 27th.. so soon yet so far away! ha ha Oh and then I went to a single adult meeting at the conference center.. its a historical event so I had to mention it.. I was part of something historical! woot ha ha The Brethren are truly inspired and Heavenly Father knows what he is doing so I am excited to see the changes! Yay for the Gospel! Hopefully I have remembered everything.. probably not but thats my update!

Also HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY! Just read the heading to my blog and there is an Irish blessing for ya! much LOVE!

Ephraim aka TURKEY TOWN!

ok so I said that I would write about my good time in Ephraim despite what was going on at home! Friday was an adventure! David was super nice and picked me up! I was so excited to see him! I haven't seen him in a LONG time! We were having fun talking and catching up and we got all the way down to Spanish Fork when the car we were in (Davids girlfriends) died! Luckily we werent on the freeway and he was able to get us to the side of the road..it was sad! There was a nice guy that came and gave us a tow. his name was Jaime but prounanced hi-may, it was kinda funny! But he was super nice and I am grateful that there are still nice people out there! So David was on the phone with some people trying to figure out what could be wrong. We couldn't figure it out so he tried to call Jed and he didnt answer and then I called Jamie. Luckily Jamie answered and I kinda told her what was going on and then I was like talk to David. He took the phone and then he asked for Jed..it was just funny! So Jed was nice and said that he would come. While we were waiting for Jed we went and got some food! We sat and talked and it was funny because the reason David took Amanda's car was because he didnt want his truck breaking down..well that worked well! ha ha He was super bummed! He was excited to come and be with all of us! Jed finally got there and David decided he was going to stay with the car and Amanda was coming with his truck so that they could get a car dolly Saturday. I didnt want to just leave David there but there wasnt much else we could do! So I went back to Ephraim with Jed, I felt like a kid getting switched between the parents cause I had all my stuff and all that jazz, it was just funny. I honestly thought it was going to be awkward between me and Jed but it was so much fun! It seemed like the drive went by super fast, maybe its because I was loopy and tired, I dont know! ha ha We finally made it to Ephraim and the first person I saw getting inside was Jamie! I was SO excited! So I ran and gave her a big hug! It was just what I needed after everything! We ended up talking to everyone and then going downstairs to watch Knights Tale. Me and Jamie didnt stay down there long cause the chillow we were on wasnt comfortable and we werent feelin the movie! We went upstairs and got ready for bed but just ended up staying up chattin and stuff! Saturday rolled around and we were the first ones up. I was tired but those beds were so uncomfortable so I couldnt sleep. We ended up in Cha's room since she was up. After breakfast Jamie, Heather, and Alaura went over to the Wellers. While they were there The rest of us went over to the Mtn Man store to pick up some ammo and ear plugs. After that we went back and Cha, Jed and Quinn played frisbee while I chilled in the hammock Jed set up. I wasnt feelin the whole frisbee thing so it gave me time to think. Looking back I should have kept myself busy to keep my mind off things but thats just not how I am! The other three got back and we went shootin! Gettin to the area we were going to shoot we practically went jeeping! The dirt roads were so beat up! It was fun though! We got to the area and I wasnt feelin it. It wasnt what was on my mind. So I let everyone else shoot and have fun and Jamie stayed back with me. It was still fun seeing everyone shoot! Cha came and was like Megan come shoot and I said im not feeling just with everything going on. Then I lost it.. I hurried behind the Jeep and Jamie being the fantastic person she is came over and helped me put myself back together. Jed came over and poor guy didnt know what to do! But it was still a nice gesture. I didnt want everyone else noticing so I wiped my tears and covered my eyes with Jamies sunglasses! We both ended up shooting and it was fun! The shot gun hurt cause im a wimp and the kick it had hurt a lot! ha ha We shot a lot of the guns and then let everyone else have some more fun! When we got back from shooting we ate and came back and put in Robin Hood. Jed wast he first to leave and me and jamie left not too long after him. We went over to the Manti Temple and took some pics. After that we were on the road for three hours but it went by way fast! I think it has to do with the company your in! =] I got to stay in Cedar until Monday and that was a lot of fun! We didnt do much just watched tv, movies, and went to church, but it was just what I needed! I loved loved being in the same area as Jamie cause I feel like its been forever since we really got to hang out. Most of the time we just go to breakfast or lunch but hey I'll take it! Needless to say I was sad the weekend ended but Im so glad it actually happened! Im sad David didnt come spend it with us but im glad it almost happened! goes to show that we can actually all get together! Hopefully we can plan another one really soon! I just love my friends!
Also next time we will get a group picture since it didnt happen this time!
Oh and I'll get pictures up when I steal them from Jamie and when I get mine uploaded!

Families can be together forever....

So this past weekend has been interesting. I'll post about all the fun stuff I did later but right now I need to get some thoughts out of my head. My nana is really sick and we didnt think she would make it past the weekend. My mom flew out Friday night and my dad and lil bro left on Saturday. My mom came home on Friday a little before I left for Ephraim and was in tears. I havent seen my mom that scared in awhile so I knew it was bad. Despite what was going on I went to Ephraim. It was hard for me to keep my feelings in check and be happy. I did a fairly good job but I had a lot of time to think. What if she really doesnt make it this weekend or this next week, how is it going to effect everyone? I know that a few of us will be emotional wrecks and cry but its part of being human. It got me thinking about family and about what that word even means. What does being an eternal family mean and have I been taking that for granted...Saturday night me and jamie went and took pictures at the Manti Temple. It was so peaceful there and we even saw a couple that was just married. Being just on the temple grounds helped me realize that I am part of eternal family and it just felt nice. Its hard to explain. Even though my mom isnt sealed to my nana, I know that the opportunity will be there and its comforting to know that we have the ability to do temple work and seal families together forever! Its hard for me to explain things and not ramble but its nice to just splurge ya know! I am so so grateful for my family and I love them all a lot! I think that with the busy world today we take our families for granted, they will be there tomorrow so its all good, right?? no not right. We dont know where life will take us and we need to spend that time with our family and let them know we love them. Its sad that it had to come to this to make me realize and solidify what I know and how I feel. Family is important and im not going to take my eternal family for granted anymore. Its a peaceful thing to know that we will see each other again and death isnt the end, its just a new beginning. It may suck for us here on earth seeing our loved ones go but they are paving a road for us to meet them somewhere far better then here. We will see what this week holds but Im glad I have the gospel in my life!
